Heritage Open Days at Ladbroke Church
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Details
Come and discover rocks and fossils, stunning stained glass, a photo exhibition on "architecture" and see how tall a spire you can build using a few sheets of paper.
PLEASE NOTE: The A423 between Southam & Ladbroke is closed for HS2 works during this weekend. You can still access Ladbroke from the south or by the lane from Deppers Bridge. However this means there will be a lot of traffic through Ladbroke and by church, so please be careful.
All Saints Church with its unusual striped tower, Gilbert Scott interior and fine stained glass stands in a picture postcard setting within the small village of Ladbroke.
More than 700 years old, it's a great example of local geology. Come and meet Ladbroke''s oldest resident (approx 200 million years old) and discover many fossils in the church stonework. Pick up a paper copy or download our special Jurassic Ladbroke leaflet and spot different rocks, fossils and erosion.
Find out more about the stained glass windows with our booklet or ask a friendly guide to show you the highlights.
During Heritage Open Days this year you can enjoy a photo exhibition on the topic "architecture" and/or take part in a challenge set by a local STEM ambassador to build a tall & robust spire from a few sheets of paper. You can also pre-book tours, see details below.
On-street parking, please avoid the blind bends and leave room for tractors to pass.
